Interior
There are two major types of interior painting,
and those are new construction and existing interiors.
New construction
The process for new construction is more intensive than existing
interiors and that is what allows the homeowner many options. We
provide many surfaces from texturing to unique finishes for our
clients.
When we enter a new home, normally we have a long cleaning process
ahead of us. All floors and walls must be cleaned and debris free.
This is imperative to the process. If we do not clean the home we
essentially will suck the debris up onto the walls and ceilings
when we are priming and painting. This leaves undesirable dirt,
texture and debris on the walls.
Once everything is cleaned we can start priming. We prefer to use
a Prep-Rite product that helps seal the drywall and taping seams.
We use an airless sprayer to aplly the primer. After the primer
is dried we go back in and paint the ceilings in a flat white ceiling
paint.
Next, we apply the wall color. Depending on the lightness and darkness
of your color, we may have to apply several coats. Depending on
product and coverage we normally can provide a great finish with
two coats of paint.
Existing
Existing construction requires more labor because we must work
around the obstacles of furniture and trimwork. We like to apply
tape to all baseboards to protect them from paint and we always
use clean, heavy canvas tarps to ensure your floor coverings are
always protected.
Experience has shown us that it is much more efficient to use a
dry-brush technique to cut in all vertical trimwork.
